Creating your own photography website is a nightmare and a real exercise in self assessment. It is a sole destroying journey for any creative individual. I have not met a photographer yet who has enjoyed the portfolio process or not gone through a massive bout of self doubting. Questioning the work I do, the work I want to do? Commercial or for the love of art? Getting the balance right and being realistic is so difficult. Then there is the technical hassle headaches, the correct design the coding and the content. Getting the image edit correct and displaying correctly, Retina, iPhone, iPad. The truth, I hate the process and this in my third version.

However, www.justinslee.co.uk is my best. It is crisp, clean and beautifully designed. Created by the great Leeds designer Dan Forster and coded by Andy (He does not want any more work) with an amendment here and there from Ross it has been in the making for some time. It is continually developing and evolving and although I am not fully satisfied as I planned to add a lot more content before going live, the site is now here and official.

The whole process had taught me a huge lesson. Your work is no good stored on a computer hard drive. Get it seen, promote it and share, share and share its contents some more. The photography is not going to be seen if it is not out there and you are not shouting out loud about it. So PLEASE (shouting loudly) find time to make a brew, poor yourself a beer or a wine and find time to browse at my site. The content is a balance of personal, commercial, editorial and corporate photography and please regularly make a visit back.
